HandDee GTuner : Operation Manual
Introduction
- The HandDee GTuner is a mobile phone gitar tuner software for
the guitarist and musicians. The HandDee GTuner fully optimizes the
hardware advantage of Symbian S60 and UIQ pda mobile phones.
- With HandDee GTuner, your Symbian mobile phones can provide
real-time pitch detection accuracy. The pitch pointer provides
the best pitch display method that even a few cents of pitch error
can be clearly show on the pda phone screen. The string indicator at
the bottom shows the closest tuning string target.
Note and Cents digital readout are also clearly displayed.
Installation
- Installing HandDee GTuner From PC. If you have a PC with infrared or
Bluetooth, you can install the HandDee GTuner with it.
- In your phone menu, select Connectivity and Infrared. Place your
phone so that the infrared ports in your phone and in your computer
are in direct line of sight to each other and closer than 1 meter
apart.
- On your computer, browse the installation "sis" file and send it
to your phone. After the sis file is sent to your phone, the
install process will start.
- Follow the messages to install the program.
Opening the program
- Go to Menu and press the GTuner application icon to open the
HandDee GTuner application on your phone.
- After opening the program, the tuning starts. Use the Options Menu
to select Registration / About / Support / Tips to see the detail
information respectively.
Using the GTuner
- The tuning screen includes the information of the tuning note on
the top, the pitch graphic display in the middle and the information
of the tuning string at the bottom.
- Once HandDee GTuner detects a tone, the top left section will show
the tuning note and the Cents of the tuning note will be displayed.
A square box at the bottom of the string closet to the 6 strings
highlights the pitch of the detected note.
- A scale of 5-cents per division is marked along the circular edge of
the pitch meter in the middle. The pitch pointer provides more
accurate reading of the input tone. The pitch pointer is most
visible when tuning is accurate and it leaves a fading trail to
show the trend of the tone to facilitate real-time string adjustment.
If the pitch pointer points to the 12-o'clock marking, it means that
the input tone is perfect pitch of the note which is shown on the
top. If the pitch pointer goes clockwise, that means the pitch of
the input tone is higher than the expected note. However, if
the pitch pointer goes anticlockwise, that means the pitch of the
input tone is lower than the expected note.
