Phonature -> Technology -> Music Application -> Musical Kaleidoscope

The musical kaleidoscope uses the polar coordinate and take advantage of the mathematical relative frequency between musical notes to create kaleidoscopic patterns. A pure tone musical instrument such as the flute will generate very pleasing flower patterns that varies in the number of petals and the shape of the petal relating to the frequency and amplitude of the tone.

The left hand side are the patterns generated for one octave of tones.

Musical Patterns

The above patterns show the audio signal at high input amplitude. One of the notes is chosen to show the variation from quiet to loud noise levels. For quiet note, the petals do not reach the centre whereas at high sound level, the petals reach the centre and become small petals reaching out from the other side.
